Inspired by art, Miracle Folaranmi (Founder and Creative Director of TruFlair) design daring, luxurious, and extravagant gowns for girls and women who want to feel intensely feminine and powerful. Her artistic side comes through in every dress through her acute attention to detail and delicate beading.
As a small child, Miracle’s eye for detail was well-known. She handstitched dresses for dolls from old scarfs. Miracle’s artistry was put on pause, as her family encouraged her to follow a more mundane path. She went to university where she studied Economics.
In 2016, during a search for her own dream wedding dress, the fire reignited for Miracle. She realised she still had a passion for design and was missing out on following her dreams. She started sewing dresses for herself and her family, self-teaching herself new techniques after which she did an internship at a tailor store in Lagos. In 2017, she honed her skills further by attending a professional fashion design academy to learn industry-standard fashion techniques as well as bridal couture. She officially kicked off her design career in the same year and by 2018, Miracle was ready to show her first bridal collection – the Beyond Beautiful – to the world.
As the creative director of TruFlair, Miracle Folaranmi has held the reins of the luxury house through various extravagant, innovative and exceptional bridal collections over the years like Obsession in 2019, Romance and Grandeur Collection in 2020, Eternal Collection in 2021 and others. She has continually fulfilled her lifelong desire to make brides all over the world happy on their big day by creating their dream dresses.
In order to take TruFlair globally, Miracle pursued an MBA in International Fashion Management in 2022 from the University of Coventry, London UK. Today, Miracle draws inspiration from the world around her and combines vintage, African, Egyptian, and European styles, as well as elements she sees in the art for her designs. She works with all the most luxurious fabrics and combines them with lace, heavy beading, embroidery, and crystals to construct imaginative appliques on sleeves, bodices, necklines, and more.
The “Tru” in Truflair is a nod to her true passion for designing, and she sincerely values the trust of every client that places their faith in her to flawlessly turn their dream dress into a reality.
